Castaway

One word, eight letters, and three syllables. CASTAWAY, now that’s what I
call the happiest place on earth. It’s the one place where Dave’s words
actually come true, they become alive and part of life. Instead of hidden in
a song of beauty, they exist in experience. There really is a place where
you fall deeply in the space between what’s wrong and right, a place where
nothing could possibly matter except then and there.

Castaway is a place that opened my heart ten fold and helped me find my
soul mate. Castaway is a place that taught me things about life. It was
different, it was a church camp that didn’t shelter us. It told us about
what god thinks, but it didn’t tell us what was wrong or right, they told us
to make our own decisions.

Castaway made my life better by showing me that just four days, a guitar
player, a mitten, just one mitten, only one mitten, white Christian rapper,
a roof, a sunset, and a few water balloon guys, can make all the difference
in the world and even more of a difference in a friendship.

My memories let me re-live those days, I’ll never forget them. Castaway,
the stories, and most of all, Duffy, told me exactly what I needed to know,
I will always love that place. If I could, I’d go back in a second and spend
the rest of forever in the arms of a best friend.
